Education is the key to creating opportunity and changing your life, as Alice Vellios would be the first one to tell you.

She inspired and reinforced that message for her children: “Education gives you choices, opens doors, enables you to earn a good living and shapes your entire life”. She truly believed that lives could be transformed through education regardless of where you were from and how much money you made.

If a child is lucky, his or her mainstream classroom will have courageous classroom teachers and study teams and special staff that allow a child to to learn and actualize their potential. The real need for today’s youth is hope and vision. Education benefits individuals, families, communities, cities.

We seek out additional, extracurricular activities apart from a child’s mainstream educational track, events and programs that provide opportunities for students to join peers in exploring and expressing similar interests, that promote community involvement, communication, teamwork, personal expression, arts, sports, etc. that foster the growth of students’ skills. They could be activities advertised through the school systems, or other sources.
